Pirates of the Caribbean 4, Tree of Life
As I was saying, a movie director and a novelist don't necessarily have the same set of skills. Like with anything they might overlap of course, like you might be a good actor and a good dancer, but they're still fundamentally different. A movie maker needs a good eye to tell a vivid story through the lens of their camera, they need an understanding of pacing because you usually have jan hour or two to tell your story in etc. But let me read the Sleeping Beauty story before I talk to much and end up eatting a nasty plate of crow, maybe I will see some of the skills you need naturally in her writing.
P.S Is the lady in blue at 1:14 Denna the Mord Sith from Legend of the Seeker?
Sleeping Beauty sounds so interesting. They have great idea, really original adaptation. But they haven't thrown me enough of a bone in the trailer yet to feel out whether it will be good or bad. Perhaps they're right not to give anything away, but I need to get excited still. Ne? Right now they've just suceeded in a tilt of the head, a furrowed brow and maybe a nod. For it to work her dreams have to be fascinating. They need a great world for her to go into and they showed nothing like that... maybe they're just saving it up. it. I'm not sure how well an author is going to direct a film though on the other hand. Though nobody know their work better, film and literature still requirea different set of skills that don't necessarily...
WE Will SEE
Emily Browning is one of my celebrity crushes, she is sooo gorgeous, loved her in Sucker Punch. The movie itself doesn't look that interesting. The Tree of Life trailer is amazing and I totally can't wait to see it, Brad Pitt and Sean Penn in the same movie, it's going to be awesome!
Does Tree of Life look like an Apocalyptic movie to you?
Sort of but it's not. It's going to be a very stylized metaphorical and artistic movie which is why the trailer doesn't make a whole lot of sense. But once you see the trailer and read the plot of it you can pretty much put 2 & 2 together. That's what I had to do before understanding what the movie was going to be about.
Ooo. Sleeping Beauty looks/sounds interesting! Although i can't stand Emily Brownings face that may ruin the film for me. I laughed when the women in the trailer said "You are Beautiful" so funny. I would love to see what that movie is all about but she totally ruins it for me.
she is pretty i dont know wat ur talking about
Out of curiosity what is your type? I'm just guessing it probably won't be the girl for me. No disrespect intended.
For me Emily Browning has one of the best new faces out there. She is so beautiful... though it is a stylized look. Its an uncannily doll-like style. Petite with a sad, pale round face, a pouty mouth and apple-shaped cheeks. And she has these wide sparkling eyes, almost like an anime character. Its no surprise she's cast in horror, fairytales and other fantasies. Its gothic lolita look. Best of all, I can't think of anyone right now who looks like her. Its a change from the typical high forehead, pencil-nosed, razor-cheeked bone, long, curtain-straight hair, barbie doll stature look of this millenium
hmm, my type? Not exactly sure. I mean i do prefer Asians but thats not the only type for me. I also usually like Brunetts but if a blond looks good a blond looks good. Aubrey Plaza, if i had to pick a "Celeberty Crush" this would be it. She's my favorite Girl right now. So pretty.
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
