2. Watch the New Moon stars on TV
As the movie's release date approaches, the stars of the Twilight Saga will make appearances on the small screen. 'Live with Regis and Kelly' will feature Kristen Stewart on Nov. 18, Robert Pattinson on Nov. 19, and Taylor Lautner on Nov. 20, according to the Regis and Kelly Twitter account. Ashley Greene will also be a guest Nov. 30.
Jay Leno will get his turn with Taylor on Monday, Nov. 16; a New Moon clip will debut on the show, featuring Taylor and Kristen.
3. Watch Robert Pattinson on 'Ellen'
'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' will feature the hunky star who plays Edward on Nov. 20 (taped Nov. 17). Team Edward, you won't want to miss this!
4. Re-read the book
Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg kept the fans in mind when she penned the script, and she says there'll be Easter eggs or special "winks" in the film that only avid readers will pick up on.
5. Brush up on who's who with our Volturi and Wolf Pack Guide
Familiarize yourself with the actors who play members of the vampires' ruling class or Quileute werewolves. If you didn't have time to read or re-read New Moon, our Volturi and Wolf Pack Guide is pretty much a cheat sheet to everything you need to know before watching the movie!
6. Read Stephenie Meyer's blog
Stephenie also posts updates on her official web site. She doesn't update as frequently, but when she does, it's usually huge news, like her announcement of her appearance on 'Oprah.'
7. Follow the cast on Twitter
The New Moon cast and Summit Entertainment occasionally give updates on events and exclusive content along with their daily activities on Twitter:
Jamie Campbell Bower
8. Show team spirit
Whether you're siding with Edward, Jacob or both on Team Switzerland, decorating your own white tee makes for a fun DIY project with friends. You can wear your creative creations to the New Moon opening. All you need are some permanent markers for something simple. If you want to go all out with arts and crafts, you might consider investing in some glue, glitter, stencils and spray paint.
9. Have a New Moon reading
Gather your fellow Twihards and ask them to read their favorite excepts from the book. Flaunt your drama skills by doing the voices or going all out with theatrics! You can all reminisce over your favorite parts.
11. Listen to the New Moon soundtrack
Music is an integral part of the movie and book. Stephenie Meyer is so attuned to the music scene, she even selected songs for a playlist while reading New Moon, and Muse is one of the bands on both her playlist and the soundtrack. Being familiar with the soundtrack while watching the film will make it all the more enjoyable. It's available on Amazon.com. You can also get a free iTunes download from the soundtrack for every ticket you purchase. If you're not into that, you can always listen to Edward's classical faves, like Debussy.
12. Do your homework
Really. The night before, do what you have to do, whether it's school assignments, feeding the dog, or taking care of other responsibilities. That way, you can watch the movie with a clear conscience, knowing you didn't procrastinate. We're sure the Cullens wouldn't approve of students neglecting their studies, especially since they were 'A' students themselves.
13. Throw a New Moon viewing party
Be as creative as you want. There are myriad themes you can choose: Team Jacob/Edward/Switzterland, or you can side with Volturi if you want to try something different. Meet up with friends a few hours before your showtime, and serve up some blood-red cupcakes and fruit punch before heading to the theaters for the main event.
14. Prepare for long lines
Wear comfortable shoes, maybe bring a chair, some snacks to munch on and share—hey, you could make some new Team Edward/Jacob friends—and bring your New Moon viewing entourage to keep you company. If you plan to camp out in line anywhere, you should check to make sure it's OK first, and bring the essentials to keep warm.
15. Check out our collectible New Moon Fandango Bucks
Still have a friend who doesn't have tickets to watch with you? You can get them a limited edition Fandango gift certificate of their favorite New Moon characters. You can send it by regular mail or e-mail, and they're good for any movie, any time on Fandango.
17. Re-watch Twilight
Before watching New Moon, re-watching the first movie is a good refresher for remembering key events, plots and characters. That way, when you watch New Moon, it'll be like picking up right where you left off. Some theaters are even re-showing Twilight for fans who are looking to get that theatrical experience.
21. Get an abs flex machine and red chap stick
With all the hype around Taylor Lautner's chiseled abs and Kristen Stewart's signature lip-biting, we thought it'd be a good idea to invest in these things. That way, you can get ripped yourself, or sport the same, smoldering red lips Kristen has.
