You Want the Truth? Here are the Rest of the 2013 Movies Based on Real Events

Captain Phillips, based on the harrowing cargo-ship hijacking from 2009, opens in theaters this weekend and will look to challenge Alfonso Cuaron's space thriller Gravity for the top spot at the box office. It's been a busy few months of biopics and "based on actual events"-type movies.

With a couple more months to go before we close out 2013, here's a handy look at the rest of the biopics and "based on actual events" films arriving in theaters.

The Monuments Mena new trailer for which debuted yesterday, is also based on actual events, but since it's an ensemble cast and not just one actor playing the lead role, we'll just mention it here.

Also, currently in theater are Rush, Lee Daniels' The Butler, Parkland and The Conjuring – all based on real events to some degree.
