And the 2012 box office continues to thrive! For only the second time ever, four films opened up to more than $20 million at the weekend box office, proving -- if anything -- that a whole lotta folks are itching to go to the movies as of late. As we told you last week, the box office is already up 11% from where it was this time last year, and as the economy continues to improve we expect that number to grow, because who doesn't love going to the movies?

Okay, great -- four movies opened up to more than $20 million, but were they any good? According to your dollars, The Vow topped them all with a whopping $41.7 million. Yes, folks were in the mood for a little love right before Valentine's Day, and those numbers prove it. Safe House ($39.3 million) was right behind the romance drama in second place, while Journey 2: The Mysterious Island ($27.6 million) and Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace ($23 million) rounded out the top four. Last week's holdover, Chronicle, finished in fifth place with $12.3 million.

Believe it or not, even with the bad buzz, critics at Rotten Tomatoes liked The Phantom Menace in 3D more than any other new release, giving it a 57% Rotten score. The least liked by critics? The Vow (27% Rotten), your box office winner. But we're not interested in what the critics had to say, because we want to hear it straight from you, the moviegoers. Sound off below and let us know how you'd rate this weekend's new releases ...
