You Rate the New Releases: 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1' and 'Happy Feet Two'

Even though Breaking Dawn Part 1 didn’t shatter any notable box office records, the film still did amazing numbers on its much-anticipated opening weekend, nabbing first place with $140 million, which wasn’t enough to top New Moon’s $142 million debut, but definitely enough for fifth place on the all-time opening weekend charts (head over to our friends at Movies.com to see more nerdy Breaking Dawn box office stats).

Meanwhile, Happy Feet Two did only half the business its predecessor did on opening weekend, taking in only $22 million for second place. Immortals ($12.3 million), Jack and Jill ($12 million) and Puss in Boots ($10.7 million) rounded out the top five.

But we’re not here to throw numbers back and forth – we want to know what you really thought of this week’s new releases. How was Breaking Dawn, Twilight fans? Was it everything you’d hoped it would be and more? Did it deserve such a massive box office take?
And what about Happy Feet Two – where were all the fans who turned the first Happy Feet into such a huge hit? Was there too far of a gap between installments? Did people forget how much they loved the first one?
