You Rate the New Releases: 'Act of Valor,' 'Good Deeds,' 'Wanderlust' and 'Gone'

Alright, I’m officially getting hammered this month when it comes to accurate box office predictions. What happened Tyler Perry? You were my go-to man! You were supposed to pull me out of this losing streak? Well Act of Valor is what happened to you. The film, starring real-life Navy SEALs, proved we don’t need no stinking action star in the lead role – we just need good, quality action.

Act of Valor took the top spot at the box office this weekend with $24.7 million, shoving Tyler Perry’s Good Deeds ($16 million) down to second place. Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston do not make the most lucrative on-screen couple (despite their movie being fun, entertaining and worth a watch), as their flick Wanderlust finished in eighth place with $6.6 million, slightly ahead of Amanda Seyfried’s Gone ($5 million).

The critics? They like Wanderlust the most, handing it a 60% Fresh rating at Rotten Tomatoes, making it the only new release with an actual Fresh rating. Does that mean you liked Wanderlust the most, or did Act of Valor win the weekend for a reason?

Sound off below and let us know exactly what you thought of this weekend’s new releases, and I’ll be back Friday to make more box office predictions. See you then!
