You Rate the New Release: 'The Hunger Games'

In case you've been living under a giant piece of coal in District 12, you no doubt know by now that The Hunger Games absolutely devoured the weekend box office, snagging roughly $152 million, giving it the third best opening of all time behind The Dark Knight and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2. Fandango chipped in as well by selling a whopping 22% of all Hunger Games tickets (a new company record), with the film also breaking Fandango's top-selling single day for any movie, besting The Dark Knight. So yeah, you could say it's kind of a big deal.

That $152 million was earned, in part, because of the millions of fans of the book, but also because critics were singing its praises pretty early on. The Hunger Games is currently sitting at 85% Fresh over at Rotten Tomatoes, and aside from a few naysayers here and there, it seemed to do pretty well with both men and women.
