You Rate the Box Office Winner: The Other Guys

After remaining on top for three weekends in a row, it took Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg to finally topple Christopher Nolan’s Inception (high five to those who predicted that win in our Friday Box Office Poll). Yup, The Other Guys proved to be the film you all wanted to see this past weekend, as it took home a respectable $35 million at the box office, beating Inception by a wide margin of $17 million. Good job … other guys!

'The Other Guys'

What’s It About: The Other Guys stars Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg as a couple of mis-matched detectives who lack a whole lotta respect in their department. So, in an effort to act more like the department’s celebrity detectives (played by Samuel L. Jackson and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson), the duo head out to solve an important case … and hilarity ensues.
Reaction: Seems critics and fans were in agreement with this one, as it’s currently running at a 79% over at Rotten Tomatoes with a whopping 91 positive reviews and only 24 negative. Once again Adam McKay has delivered a comedy worth seeing, and with those opening numbers there’s a chance it could go on to become his biggest box office win to date (though it’ll take a little more love from you fans to beat Talladega Night’s $150 million).
Your Opinion: The critics really dug it, but did you? Sound off in our poll below and let us know what you really thought of The Other Guys. Then, in the comments, answer this question: Out of all the Adam Mckay/Will Ferrell movies, is this the one that most deserves a sequel?
