You Pick the Box Office Winner: Can 'The Incredible Burt Wonderstone' Work Its Box Office Magic?

It'll take a bit more than the clicking of heels together three times to boot Oz the Great and Powerful from the top spot at the box office this weekend, but two new wide releases will attempt to just that. And seeing as one of them features a trio of magicians, we'll have to see if their greatest trick is yet to come. Let's take a closer look ...

The Incredible Burt Wonderstone

What's the Scoop: Steve Carell and Steve Buscemi play magicians who try to win back the spotlight after a slick street magician (Jim Carrey) steals it from them with his elaborate and dangerous stunts.

Why It Might Win the Weekend: A trio of guys who've been providing memorable laughs on screen for well over a decade are sure to draw a crowd, though the big question is whether it'll be big enough to defeat Oz.

The Call

What's the Scoop: Halle Berry plays a 911 operator who's roped into solving a dangerous crime when she receives a call from a girl who's just been abducted.

Why It Might Win the Weekend: Those opting out of fantasy and comedy may want a thriller starring a reliable actress who always turns in a good performance. In that case, The Call is a good bet.

My Prediction: Burt Wonderstone will do well, but not well enough to defeat Oz the Great and Powerful coming off an opening weekend of close to $80 million. I expect the Wizard of Oz prequel to take the top spot for a second week.

My Pick of the Week: It's still cold when I'm living right now, and when it's cold there's nothing better than a good thriller. I'd give The Call a chance, and see if Halle Berry can phone in a meaty performance.

Alright folks, now it's your turn -- let us know what you're seeing and which movie you think will win the weekend.
