Woody Allen Receives 20th Career Writer's Guild Award Nomination for 'Midnight in Paris'

While Midnight in Paris has been somewhat of a renaissance for Woody Allen, the prolific writer-director picked up his 20th career Writers Guild of America award nomination today.

Allen will be up against Will Reiser (50/50), Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo (Bridesmaids), Tom McCarthy (Win Win) and Diablo Cody (Young Adult) in the Original Screenplay category.
The Adapted Screenplay category finds The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo scribe Steven Zaillian who is also co-nominated for Moneyball with Aaron Sorkin, going up against Alexander Payne (The Descendants), Tate Taylor (The Help) and John Logan (Hugo).
The feature documentary category features six films – Better This World, If A Tree Falls: A Story of the Earth Liberation Front, Nostalgia for the Light, Pina, Position Among the Stars and Senna.
Winners will be announced a week before the Oscars on January 19.
