Wolverine Sequel Delayed Again as Hugh Jackman Shoots 'Les Miserables'

Just when it looked like things were falling in place for the Wolverine sequel, the highly anticipated movie has been hit with another setback. Star Hugh Jackman will film Les Miserables before shooting Wolverine 2, pushing the start date on our adamantium-clawed anti-hero’s movie to spring of next year.

Originally, Jackman was set to shoot Wolverine before Les Miserables, but then director Darren Aronofsky bailed on the project. While Fox was looking for a replacement, Jackman had some time in his schedule and started prepping for Les Miserables.
This of course isn’t the first time Les Miserables has been given the big-screen treatment. The story about ex-convict Jean Valjean and his quest for redemption set during 1860s France has received no less than 12 film adaptations. Jackman will play Valjean for director Tom Hooper, who won the Best Director Oscar last year for The King’s Speech.
Once wrapped on Les Miserables, Jackman is set to meet up with new Wolverine director James Mangold and begin filming. Both movies are now expected to be released sometime in 2013, though no official dates have been set.
