Who's Ready for 'Nutty Professor 3'?

I don't know if I'm ready for a third installment in the recent Nutty Professor franchise, but I know who is: Eddie Murphy. Speaking to Access Hollywood at the Shrek Forever After premiere, Murphy admitted that there might be another Nutty Professor in his future. He says, "You know what, there might be another Nutty Professor. We kind of wrote something that might be kind of funny."

Nutty Professor

Might be kind of funny? Doesn't exactly sound all too convincing, but we'll let him continue: "If the studios want to do it, we'll do it. If you don't see it, the studio was like, "This isn't funny." This isn't the first we've heard of a third Nutty Professor, since back in 2008 it was reported that another sequel was in the early stages of development. No word on what's happened since then, though it appears as if Murphy has helped write a new screenplay that's currently out to the studio.
And as far as whether we're ever going to see him in another Beverly Hills Cop movie, the actor admits he doesn't even know: "I don't know, they've been developing that 'Beverly Hills Cop' [sequel] for years and years and years," Eddie said. "I don't know what 's going on with that."
Would you want to see a third Nutty Professor movie, or has that series kind of run its course by now?
