Watch This: James Cameron's 'Laser Cats 5'!

While all of you have kept busy making routine trips to the movie theater to watch Avatar…again…for a tenth time, little did you know that director James Cameron was slowly piecing together his next epic blockbuster. Yes, you heard me – the dude has been busy staging his biggest film yet: an all out, balls-to-the-wall action flick about a couple of guys who travel back in time to destroy a bunch of cats who shoot lasers out of their eyes.

'Laser Cats 5'

It's called Laser Cats 5, and Cameron previewed the film himself this past weekend on an episode of Saturday Night Live. Yes, I'm kidding (for those tightly wound) – there really isn't a Laser Cats 5 (in theory) though there is the SNL Digital Short that was perhaps their best of the year. In it, Cameron presents his latest vision to SNL creator Lorne Michaels, and we soon get a taste of not only one of the most moronic parodies ever, but also one that manages to spoof every James Cameron film at the same time (including an appearance by Sigourney Weaver as her Alien character Ripley).

Whether they intended it or not, the short is also kind of an attack against Avatar (in a not-so-roundabout way) since many have criticized that film for being nothing but an amalgamation of other films. Funny stuff. Check it out below and let us know what you think.
