Originally the last film in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit series was to be called There and Back Again. However, Jackson and the studio decided to add in a third movie to the franchise, and that title was dropped because it no longer represented the last movie. The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (in theaters December 17) was declared to be a more fitting title. It's also a way to declare your movie is going to have some serious action in it.
Here's the first poster.
In addition to that poster above, the first teaser trailer for The Battle of the Five Armies has arrived online following its Comic-Con premiere, and it most certainly promises to be a solemn affair where Middle-earth is ravaged by war. It looks like the movie picks up right where The Desolation of Smaug left off: with the terrifying beast Smaug soaring toward Lake-town to burn it to the ground. From there, everyone -- orc and human alike -- seem to be marching toward one thing: a sweet picnic with a bouncy castle.
Just kidding. It's war. Watch the teaser below.
