Watch the First 5 Minutes of 'How to Train Your Dragon 2'

So you don’t really want to wait until June to take flight in the upcoming animated sequel How to Train Your Dragon 2? Totally understandable. Toothless the Dragon and his human pal Hiccup were surprising heroes of the CGI animation field, and we just know that their latest adventure is going to capture our hearts with its bravery, humor and spectacular visual animation. How do we know? Because we’ve seen the first five minutes of the film, and now you can, too!

Yahoo Movies shared this exclusive clip of the first five minutes of this summer's sequel. It’s basically a big setup. Remember where we were last movie? We’re still here… but things are about to go south, very quickly:

And as you can tell, from the swirling scenes of Dragon Racing, the How to Train sequel has perfected the art of flying – or, at least, placing an audience on an animated dragon's back and giving us the sensation of flight.

Does the Dragon Race remind you of anything? Because it makes me think of Quidditch, in the Harry Potter film franchise.

I’m torn on these five-minute teases. Sure, they get you pumped up for a big summer adventure. And when the market is crowded (as it tends to get in the summertime), then you can understand why a studio needs to get ahead of the competition. But these Dragon 2 scenes will look better on the biggest screen possible – hey, we're movie-theater people! – so watching it on our laptops doesn't quite have the same effect.

Still, we'll be front and center when How to Train Your Dragon 2 opens in theaters on June 13, with the voices of Jay Baruchel, Jonah Hill, Gerard Butler, Kit Harington and Cate Blanchett.
