Watch New Trailers for 'Earth to Echo' and 'Annie'

Dave Green’s Earth to Echo has all the makings of a summer blockbuster favorite: a family-friendly story, found footage and adorable (but lonely) extraterrestrials. Best friends Tuck, Munch and Alex receive mysterious, encoded messages on their mobile phones. When the gang seeks help from their parents and the police, they are met with a lot of scoffing — as is often the case with authority figures and kid sleuths in movies.

The friends embark on a journey to crack the code and assist the strange being from another world who needs their help, changing all of their lives forever. Here’s our first look at Earth to Echo, opening in theaters July 2.

Annie was a 1977 Broadway smash that became an American film favorite (about an American dream) after a 1982 big-screen adaptation. Now Easy A director Will Gluck has remade this family-movie classic, casting Beasts of the Southern Wild star Quvenzhané Wallis in the title role.

The modern-day update finds Jamie Foxx as a Daddy Warbucks-esque figure who takes the orphaned Annie under his wing to boost his image during a political campaign. Cameron Diaz is Annie's villainous Miss Hannigan foster mom. Executive producer Jay-Z will feature some newly written music, a preview of which can be heard in this clip. Annie debuts on December 19.
