Watch a Rare 'Harry Potter' Audition with Its Three Adorable Child Stars

Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson in Harry Potter

We reached the end of one of cinema's most popular film franchises in 2011, but the Harry Potter universe lives on in J.K. Rowling's ongoing related series (see: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them). When plotting the first film in the canon, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, the author sought British actors in order to remain faithful to the novels. During auditions, children were given scripts to read and scenes to improvise.

After fielding thousands of children, the main roles went to a group of young unknowns: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint. While the boys were accepted almost immediately into the project, Watson had to endure over five interviews before she actually got the part. She did, however, impress agents with her confidence during the audition.

Here's a rare peek at the trio during a screen test. They're so tiny and adorable, it's ridiculous. When Radcliffe finally slips on his round spectacles, the character of wiz-kid Harry Potter truly comes to life. [Spotted via Filmmaker IQ]
