Warner Bros. to Revive Tarzan into Movie Trilogy

TarzanWarner Bros. has been trying to re-launch the well-known character for a while now and has secured Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow, Black Snake Moan) as writer and director of the reboot. Deadline says that Tarzan is a “passion project” for Brewer, who directed the recent reboot of Footloose which hits theaters this October. Brewer envisions telling the story over the course of three movies.

As with most reboots, the plot appears to begin with an origins-style adaptation of Tarzan being raised by apes in the jungles of Africa from infancy.
Do we really need three Tarzan movies though? Can’t we pretty much contain the entire story about a guy who swings on vines and saves Jane from peril in one film? What do you think?
