'Transformers 3' Gets a Release Date and a Fox

Just when you thought it was safe to take your robot dog for a walk again comes news from Michael Bay himself that Transformers 3 will drop the smack down on July 1st, 2011. Over on his official blog, Bay claims they have a "great Transformers 3 story" and that he's currently en route to Rhode Island with screenwriter Ehren Kruger to chat up Hasbro and figure out which new robots will make their way into the third installment.

Though there's no word on whether Bay and Co. will give us a Transformers 3 in 3D (I think something like that would seriously cause our brains to explode, but hey – I'd see it), the wildly outspoken director did leave a message for Megan Fox on his site. As you may or may not know, Bay and Fox have been trading verbal punches ever since Revenge of the Fallen hit theaters earlier this summer, with Fox comparing Bay to Hitler and Bay calling Fox a spoiled brat (or something like that).

Needless to say, there's tension between these two – and rumor had it things were so bad that Fox wouldn't be involved with a third film at all. Well, if that's true, maybe Bay's message to her will change the gal's mind.

He says, "P.S. Megan Fox, welcome back. I promise no alien robots will harm you in any way during the production of this motion picture. Please consult your Physician when working under my direction because some side effects can occur, such as mild dizziness, intense nausea, suicidal tendencies, depression, minor chest hair growth, random internal hemorrhaging and inability to sleep. As some directors may be hazardous to your health, please consult your Doctor to determine if this is right for you.

Thank God Michael Bay isn't a stand-up comedian…and that's all I'll say about that. So, Transformers 3 on July 1st, 2011. Will you be first in line for a ticket? Is there any possible way that Bay can out-Bay himself on a third film? When you've reached the top of the special effects mountain, where do you go from there?
