In what has to be some sort of Hollywood record, even more trailers arrived online since we last met … and it’s starting to become a bit of a chore to keep up with all of them. While we’re expecting the latest trailer for Christopher Nolan’s Inception to hit at anytime, here are two more previews for a couple of buzzed-about 2010 films.
Trailer Watch: ‘The Karate Kid’ and ‘Sex and the City 2’
Nope, they’re not re-releasing the old 1984 classic starring Ralph Maccio and Pat Morita. Instead, this is the 2010 remake, complete with hip-hop tunes, Will Smith’s kid Jaden, and Jackie Chan as the lovable martial arts mentor. Like in the previous incarnation, this one follows a kid and his mom who move overseas to start a new life (the original had them moving from New Jersey to California). Of course there are mean kids who beat up our out-of-towner, but when he hooks up with a guy who really knows how to kick some butt, things change pretty fast.
I originally thought this movie looked horrible, but after watching the trailer – and enjoying all the subtle nods to the original – I have to say that this actually looks pretty decent. We won’t really know until it hits theaters on June 11th, 2010.
Watch the trailer over on Yahoo and let us know what you think.
The first film saw so many women running to the theater that you almost thought they were giving away free cosmos and manicures or something. Thus, here we are with a sequel to the first Sex and the City, which itself was based on the long-running HBO series. What’s there to know? The girls – Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Samantha (Kim Cattrall), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) are all back and looking sensational.
This time, however, they’re not just staying in New York. Oh no, they’re taking their wild, carefree, shopping-spree ways global, baby! There’s nothing here that looks even remotely attractive to me, but then again I’m definitely not the target audience. Check out the trailer over here and let us know what you think. Will Sex and the City 2 do as well as the original? It hits theaters on May 28, 2010.
