Trailer Watch: ‘Skyline’ and ‘I Am Number Four’

The second trailer for Skyline has arrived, and it looks to be just what we expected: a big, sprawling, effects-heavy action flick about aliens who come to earth and begin sucking up its inhabitants (literally). The film will then follow a small group of survivors who desperately want to get out of dodge pronto.
Skyline was directed by special effects wizards Colin and Greg Strause, two brothers who’ve worked on the visual effects for a number of films – from X-Men: The Last Stand to The Curious Case of Benjamin Button – and have just recently transitioned to directing with Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem, and now Skyline. The one thing going against this film right now is the kinda-familiar-but-not-really cast, which includes Eric Balfour, Donald Faison and Brittany Daniel. Hopefully the creepy Transformers-like aliens will steal the show and distract us from the fact that it’s not Brad Pitt saving the day, but that dude from Clueless and Scrubs. The film arrives in theaters on November 12th. Check out the trailer below …

I Am Number Four
Oh, but we’re not done with alien invasion flicks. I Am Number Four is another other-worldly movie about a group of aliens who escape their home planet and hide out on earth under the guise of high schoolers. It’s based on a series of books by James Frey, and the first film stars up-and-comers like Alex Pettyfer and Teresa Palmer. Pettyfer plays Number Four, an alien-turned-regular old high school student who’s hiding out from an enemy that’s out to hunt him down and ultimately kill him.
The film’s first trailer reminds me a little of the first Twilight film (but with more action) mixed with the sci-fi flick Jumper.  Check it out below and let us know what you think. Could this be the next Twilight? I am Number Four hits theaters on February 18th.

Which of these two alien flicks are you looking forward to the most?
