Following up a brief clip and still images revealed via the official site a couple months ago, today we get our best look yet at Ang Lee's adaptation of Yann Martell's novel Life of Pi with a new trailer.
Early footage screened at CinemaCon this year had folks buzzing about the eye-popping visuals and that's without the benefit of 3D. Indeed, one look at this trailer and you can get the sense that this is one of those movies where the 3D technology could be an added bonus.
The story follows a teenager and zookeeper's son named Pi Patel who, after a devastating shipwreck, is left drifting across the sea on a life boat with a Bengal tiger named Richard Parker. Amid striking imagery, he forms a unexpected bond with the tiger as they encounter a storm of fish, a magical humpback whale and more.
While Life of Pi may be pretty to look at, it remains to be seen if Lee can make the story as intriguing as it is captivating to watch and how Suraj Sharma performs in his first feature length film.
Life of Pi arrives in theaters November 21 for the long Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
