Almost every big-name actress has one and now Jessica Chastain adds a horror film to her resume.
Directed by first-time feature film director Andy Muschietti and backed by Guillermo del Toro, MaMa finds Chastain and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as a young couple who adopt two young girls who have been lost in the woods for several years following the unexplainable deaths of the parents. The girls are being haunted by a woodland spirit known as MaMa who wants to claim them for its own.
Not a lot of jump scares in this first trailer and it looks like one of those horror films that relies heavily on tone and atmosphere to get under your skin.
MaMa hits theaters January 18.
