Tom Hiddleston's Loki Is Front and Center in New 'Thor: The Dark World' Featurette

With just under a month to go before the release of Thor: The Dark World, Marvel's French YouTube channel has released a new featurette highlighting Tom Hiddleston's mischievous antagonist character Loki.

We've already seen much of the footage in previous trailers, but this clip includes sound bites from Hiddleston and Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth.

"In the wake of Avengers, Loki is struggling to find a place within the family, struggling to find a place within the universe," Hiddleston says. "It's that part of him which Thor appeals to. Thor is basically bringing him back from the brink, rerecruiting him as Thor's brother and Thor's wingman, in a way."

"In this film, Thor needs Loki, so it's an interesting dynamic," Hemsworth adds. "He's a villain but we kind of love him. Anytime you can do that, it makes it so much more interesting."

Games of Thrones director Alan Taylor helmed this Thor sequel and was particularly drawn to the sibling dynamic of the brothers.

"The conflict between brother and brother is one of the main engines of the Thor movies. They can't stand each other, but they love each other and they need each other. It's just typical brothers, but heightened," Taylor said.

Watch the full featurette below as Taylor, Hemsworth and Hiddleston talk about Loki's purpose in the film. Thor: The Dark World is in theaters November 8. Tickets are currently on sale!
