'Thor' Trailer: Loki, London and Rock Monsters... Oh My!

Thor and Loki… working together?!

What Asgardian insanity is this? Has the god of thunder (Chris Hemsworth) forgotten what his maniacal half brother (Tom Hiddleston) recently did to New York City? Jane (Natalie Portman) certainly hasn’t – and that’s a nice beat in the latest full-length trailer for Thor: The Dark World. Marvel shared a new, in-depth look at Alan Taylor’s stand-alone Thor movie. We have it for you below:

As you can see, The Dark World will split time once again between Asgard and Earth, with the bulk of the action on our planet taking place in London. There’s that great shot of Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir, racing through the streets of London on the way back to our hero’s hand. But as Hemsworth told us during a recent set visit, Taylor and his crew also plan to transport audiences to other corners of the celestial Nine Realms, giving this Thor sequel a greater scope and vast expanse. Like the rest of the Marvel stand-alone movies, The Dark World plans to think bigger. Are you impressed?

We still don’t get a lot of Malekith (Christopher Eccleston), the main villain in this Thor sequel. In place of him, we continue to get an emphasis on Loki, which is fine since Hiddleston’s so satisfying in the role. Also, this might be the last time we see him as Loki for some time, as it has been suggested that the god of mischief will NOT be back for Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, due in theaters in 2015.

So for now, we have The Dark World to look forward to. It will be in theaters on November 8. What do you think of the trailer? And how many times will you see Thor in the theaters? Double digits? Triple? Let us know below.
