The Twilight Saga Scores Big at People's Choice Awards

The people have once again voted, and whaddya know – they love their Twilight. Yes, in case you missed it, The People's Choice Awards were last night, and those vampires and werewolves managed to scrape together a solid four awards making them the big winners of the night. The Twilight Saga: New Moon won Best Movie, Taylor Lautner won Best Breakout Actor, The Twilight Saga won Best On-Screen Team and Best Franchise. (Obviously we now know who makes up a majority of the folks voting on these awards.)

But there were other movies that came out last year, and luckily the people left some room for them, too. Sandra Bullock took home Best Actress for The Proposal and The Blind Side, while Johnny Depp was not only named Best Actor (for Public Enemies and The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus), but he also took home the award for Actor of the Decade. Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds made a surprise appearance for Best Independent Movie, Hugh Jackman nabbed Best Action Star, Jim Carrey won Best Comedic Star, Pixar's Up grabbed Best Family Movie and The Proposal topped things off with a win for Best Comedy Movie.

Would I have picked things a little differently? Yes, most likely. But it's nice to give folks a chance to vote in their own awards ceremony instead of making us sit back and accept the opinions of unknown Academy members or the Hollywood Foreign Press.

Do you agree with the People's Choice Award winners? Or would you have picked differently?
