'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2' Sets Release Date!

Breakind DawnUnfortunately for fans of the Twilight series, you're going to have to wait an entire year between part 1 and part 2 of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn as Summit Entertainment has just announced a November 16th, 2012 release date for the final chapter in the Twilight Saga. Unlike The Twilight Saga: Eclipse – which hit theaters at the end of June right before the busy 4th of July weekend, and only 7 months after The Twilight Saga: New Moon swooped down and landed on the big screen – it appears Summit feels more comfortable in that November slot and has decided to shell out both Breaking Dawn parts during that time. For those wondering, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1 is due out on November 18th, 2011.

Part of the reason why Summit is spreading them out could have to do with both films being delivered to us in 3D. Perhaps the studio wants more time between each film to work on the 3D and have it lookin' sweet as pumpkin pie. Either that or it's as simple as there not being enough room during a packed summer of 2012 that will see films like The Avengers, Spider-Man and Batman 3 all fighting one another for top supremacy. If I were Summit, there's no way I'd want to compete against those three powerhouses, and so the wisest move is to slide into that Harry Potter November spot and milk it for all it's worth.

What do you think about the final two installments being released one year apart?
