‘The Iron Lady’ = Meryl Streep’s Next Oscar?

You know awards season is right around the corner when the first full-length trailer for The Iron Lady drops against the fervor of The Hunger Games.

Meryl Streep demonstrates why she is either a guaranteed lock for her 17th Best Actress Oscar nomination or the most unexpected snub of the awards season in this UK trailer.

In the film, Streep portrays former conservative British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in her rise to power and struggle to maintain control of the Falkland Islands.

Boasting a supporting cast that features Jim Broadbent and Anthony Head along with the persuasive awards lobbying by The Weinstein Company, The Iron Lady is sure to have its title announced in the early dawn hours of January 24th when Oscar nominations are revealed.

For now, check out the full length trailer below and sound off in the comments section. The Iron Lady opens December 30th.
