'The Hunger Games' L.A. Premiere Sets Social Media on 'Fire'

Countless stars from the Hunger Games galaxy graced the red carpet in Los Angeles Monday night – dubbed “The Capitol” by Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer – for the anticipated premiere of Francis Lawrence’s Catching Fire… and if you were anywhere near social media, you felt the wave of enthusiasm emerging from the West Coast.
I just hope you didn’t try to drive anywhere near the downtown area during said event.
Eventually, Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, Jeffrey Wright, Willow Shields, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Lenny Kravitz, Woody Harrelson, Philip Seymour Hoffman and director Lawrence were among the many celebrities gravitating around the Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live. And you didn’t have to be in California to enjoy the fun. Twitter was a hotbed of Catching Fire intensity. Which tweets caught our eyes?

And the excitement continued after the screening!

This has been a busy stretch of days for Team Hunger Games. The cast and crew recently conducted a Global Fan Day, which included an exclusive chat with our own Dave Karger.

And we have an ongoing Catching Fire sweepstakes, which is available to fans who grab their Hunger Games tickets early. Click here to grab your tickets, and to enter.
The movie’s almost here. It opens everywhere on November 22. And it’s pretty amazing. Make sure you are there on opening weekend, when Catching Fire continues Katniss’ quest to tear down the Capitol, brick by brick.
