'The Hobbit' News: On-Sale Ticket Date, And a First Look at Evangeline Lilly in Character
We’re still less than two months away from the first chapter in Peter Jackson’s planned Hobbit trilogy. An Unexpected Journey will open in theaters on Dec. 14, but there’s a new November date you’re going to want to circle on your calendar.
The popular Hobbit fan site TheOneRing.net reveals that advanced tickets for Jackson’s film will go on sale Wednesday, Nov. 7 at noon EST / 9 a.m. PST. So from that moment on, the time of your Journey won’t be so Unexpected anymore.
In addition to the ticket-time news, Collider managed to score our first look at Lost star Evangeline Lilly in character as the warrior Tauriel. The image comes to us courtesy of some advertising for Hobbit merchandise, of which there is bound to be tons.
Tauriel wasn’t in J.R.R. Tolkien’s original Hobbit novel. She’s a new character added by Jackson and his team (helping to explain how Jackson’s able to extend the thin Hobbit novel into three movies). Back in January, Lilly described her character in this way: “She’s the big shot in the army. So she knows how to wield any weapon, but the primary weapons that she uses are a bow and arrow and two daggers. And she’s lethal and deadly.”
Here’s the Tauriel image. And be sure to circle Nov. 7, so you can circle back and grab choice tickets to The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
