'The Avengers' Out On Blu-Ray And DVD: Tell Us Your Favorite Scene
Finally, Joss Whedon’s smash hit The Avengers arrives on home video today, giving fans the opportunity to revisit the highest-grossing film of 2012.
We have enjoyed teasing the special features you’ll be able to find on the Blu-ray and DVD, including digital effects featurettes and deleted scenes. But the real reason we’re excited to have The Avengers in our homes is that we can skip right to our favorite scenes and relive the best parts of Whedon’s blockbuster ad nauseum.
So, what’s the first scene I’m going to revisit? Probably Thor’s battle with Hulk aboard the S.H.I.E.L.D. heli-carrier, where the raging warriors decimate planes, walls and more as the Asgardian god tries to subdue Dr. Bruce Banner’s furious beast. Or maybe the amazing shot of Banner (Mark Ruffalo) admitting his “secret” to Captain America (Chris Evans), right before he transforms and stops that robotic snake creature in its tracks. Or maybe I’ll jump right to Iron Man versus Thor in the dark woods. Or Cap versus Loki in Germany. Or …
Well, you get the idea. The beauty of Whedon’s Avengers is that it’s an expertly-tailored summer blockbuster that works as one massive movie but still manages to deliver multiple eye-popping sequences. It trumps itself over and over again.
So tell us, on this Avengers DVD day, which scene is your most favorite? And which sequence will you jump to once you have The Avengers on Blu-ray and DVD in your own home? Let us know in the comments section below!
