'The Avengers' Deleted Scene Shows Captain America Coping with His Past

We’re continuing to get fired up for Joss Whedon’s The Avengers, which will reach DVD and Blu-ray on Sept, 25. Earlier in the week, we commented on an alternate opening Whedon had planned, which would have shown scenes of the devastated New York City before getting into the story of Loki and the Tesseract. Today, a deleted scene has making the rounds that shows the unfrozen Captain America (Chris Evans) adapting to our modern world.

See for yourself!

The clip was scooped by Latino Review, and includes Stan Lee’s infamous cameo. Hard to believe “The Man” himself ended up on Whedon’s cutting room floor!

But it begins with newsreel footage that harkens back to Cap’s origin in the hero’s standalone film. It also solemnly mourns the men Cap lost in his battle … and reveals the current location of his one true love.

How many more goodies will we find on the Avengers’ DVD? Only a few more weeks to go, and we get to find out for ourselves.
