‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D’ Close To Landing Director

For those who’ve been watching the movies in the Chainsaw Massacre franchise and thought, “You know, this movie would look so much cooler in 3D,” well, good news. Lionsgate is bringing Leatherface back to theaters in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D.

Hoping to set up a new franchise featuring the chainsaw-wielding killer, the production company is close to landing John Luessenhop as the director for the first of what they hope to be a six-movie franchise. Luessenhop directed last year's crime caper Takers. Production is slated to begin next month.
The original 1974 Chainsaw Massacre is considered a landmark horror movie. The movie was remade in 2003 starring Jessica Biel along with a prequel in 2006 starring Fast Five’s Jordonna Brewster.
Are you up for more Leatherface and would six Massacre movies, pardon the pun, kill the franchise?
