Steven Spielberg Teases 'Lincoln' Ahead of Thursday's Full Trailer

Steven Spielberg on Thursday plans to debut the first full trailer for his upcoming historical drama Lincoln, with Daniel Day-Lewis in the lead role. But if you are anxious to see footage from the November movie, we have a treat.

Disney sneaks a 40-second clip from the upcoming teaser. It doesn’t show much. Day-Lewis doesn’t even get a moment to speak. Instead, we hear supporting cast member David Oyelowo reciting snippets of the president’s Gettysburg Address back at our nation’s leader as Civil War battle scenes play out (with John Williams’ majestic score lacing each scene).

We’re unsure what, exactly we’re going to see from the full Lincoln trailer when it debuts on Thursday. Will DDL even speak? Or will we simply witness the actor’s visual transformation, which we’ve enjoyed through official photos and the film’s first poster, which showed Day-Lewis in side profile.

Believe it or not, this is a relatively late tease, as the film opens on Nov. 9. The upside? We won’t have to wait too long to settle in for the finished product. So, here’s the teaser to the trailer. We’ll back in Lincoln land on Thursday, once the full trailer is up. For now, what do you think?
