Specially Formatted IMAX Version of 'Skyfall' Will Show 25% More Footage

Bigger screens certainly have their up-sides. Besides immersing movie-goers into the film they're watching, IMAX films feature crisp surround sound, beautifully clean projection and provide a truly unique and memorable movie-going experience.

James Bond fans get to watch their favorite spy on an IMAX screen for the first time as Skyfall hits theaters on November 8 (a day before the regular 35mm release), but they'll be getting something extra.

Today's entry in the IMAX blog states that the IMAX version of Skyfall will show 25% more of the image throughout the entire film compared to the 35mm version. Perhaps it's easier just to show you how much more of the image you'll see on screen. Click the image for a larger version.

Also, the world premiere took place at Royal Albert Hall yesterday. You can watch a re-stream of the premiere on the Skyfall Facebook page as well as check out some red carpet photos.

Will knowing that you can see 25% more of the image on an IMAX screen get you to spring the extra couple of dollars to watch it on the bigger screen? If so, you can get your Skyfall IMAX tickets here.
