Lately it’s been all about bringing older classics back to the big screen for special, limited runs. Whether it’s an IMAX conversion (Raiders of the Lost Ark), a 3D conversion (Finding Nemo) or just a fun thing to do for a holiday (Halloween), these days a lot of the movies we grew up with are somehow making their way back to theaters … and that’s a pretty great thing.
Of course this is happening right in the middle of a packed fall lineup, including the next James Bond movie, the final Twilight movie, a new one from Quentin Tarantino and a Lord of the Rings prequel – meaning there’s a ton of movies (old and new) to look forward to. However, watching a movie on the big screen is a special thing and a unique experience -- and those who take watching movies as seriously as we do (which should be
most all of you) already know that there are certain films where it’s almost required to watch them on the biggest screen possible.
To get the ball rolling, I think the one film I want to watch most on the big screen right now is Skyfall. This will be James Bond’s first trip to IMAX, and I’m itching to see what those 007 action sequences will look like on the world’s largest movie screen. Also, considering it was one of my most memorable moviegoing experiences, I can't wait to watch Jurassic Park when it returns to the big screen next April in 3D to see how it holds up all these years later.
What about you? Is there a particular movie you desperately want to watch specifically on the big screen?
