SDCC Updates: 'Game of Thrones,' 'The Walking Dead,' 'True Blood' Lead TV Charge into San Diego

As San Diego Comic-Con quickly approaches, we're starting to get a better idea of what this year's programming slate will include. Movies look to be taking a back seat to TV shows this year, with a number of popular shows taking over Hall H and Ballroom 20, rooms generally reserved for upcoming Hollywood films.

While we still don't know definitively which films will be in attendance, we do know that Disney, Sony and Warner Bros. will be on hand. Disney is set to offer up panels for Frankenweenie, Wreck-It Ralph and Oz: The Great and Powerful while Marvel will most likely tout Iron Man 3. It has been rumored that Warner Bros. will offer up more Hobbit footage, though the studio has not officially confirmed that the film will be at Con. The studio has booked the 2p.-5p. slot inside Hall H on Saturday.

Television will take over the big rooms this year. The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones will occupy Hall H on Friday afternoon. Dead will host a panel beginning at 1:25p. and will be followed by Thrones at 3p. The Big Bang Theory is also set for a Friday panel inside Hall H, though the exact time has yet to be announced.

Nearby Petco Park will also be transformed into a Walking Dead zombie obstacle course. It costs $80 to run with the undead. This year's tote backpacks will feature The Game of Thrones or Joss Whedon/Avengers designs.
