While we patiently wait for the full finalized Comic-Con programming schedule to be unveiled this Friday, bits and pieces are starting to come together. You can find out where most of the major television shows will be holding panels in our post from last week.
We now know which film will be kicking off the four days of Hall H panels and, really, it's not much of a surprise. Much like last year, Twilight: Breaking Dawn will open Thursday morning in Hall H (that's your cue to start camping out Twihards). Summit will offer up a sneak peek of the film as well as the usual Q&A session with the cast.
Summit will also have a booth on the convention floor where fans can stop by for autographs, participate in contests and collet free giveaways all weekend long. You can find more info here.
Switching gears a bit, there's a strong sense that The Hobbit will be featured in the Warner Bros. panel on Saturday, though we'll have to wait a couple more days for the studio to officially announce which films they're touting. Meanwhile, special effects company WETA and Air New Zealand have pulled together one impressive prize package.
Dubbed, "a trip of a lifetime to Middle Earth for one lucky fanboy," the prize package includes:
- 6 day trip for two to New Zealand, with round-trip airfare via Air New Zealand
- VIP Tour of the Hobbiton Movie Set
- Visit the WETA Cave and meet the artists from the WETA Workshop
- See the movie set locations in Queenstown
- Two tickets to the World Premiere of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, in Wellington, New Zealand on November 28, 2012.
In order to be eligible to win this amazing prize package, you'll have to stop by the WETA booth on the convention center floor.
Finally, it may not be a trip of a lifetime, but there will certainly be plenty of people who will want to get their hands on limited edition Stan Lee, Morgan Spurlock, Harry Knowles and Joss Whedon action figures.
In connection with the DVD release of Spurlock's film, Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope on July 10, two special edition DVD bundles will include Spurlock/Whedon and Lee/Knowles action figures. The Whedon/Spurlock bundle will be sold exclusively at Toys 'R' Us, while the Lee/Knowles bundle will be available at "select stores and online retailers."
A third combo pack will include all four action figures along with the DVD and will be on sale at game stores nationwide.
