Arnold Schwarzenegger Kinda Confirms His Return To The Terminator Franchise
So does Arnold Schwarzenegger have a cameo in the new Terminator film, or should we get used to a sequel that doesn't include the star that made the franchise popular to begin with? What's the deal? Tell us Erik – preach it to us! Okay, okay, what's up is TheArnoldFans.com caught up with the current California Governor and learned that Arnold has watched a cut of Terminator Salvation, and is also cool with allowing the filmmakers to use his likeness, but doesn't want to move forward if his participation will be part of the marketing effort. Put simply, he doesn't want to let fans down if all they see of Arnold is some 30-second piece of boring. And I don't blame him.
Personally, I think Arnold will show up, and this whole smoke-and-mirrors show is exactly that: a diversion to keep people guessing till the film hits theaters in two months on May 21.
'Twilight' Director Merry-Go-Round Better Than The Movie?
It's a brand new day which means a brand new name is being talked about in relation to the vacant director's chair for the Twilight sequel Eclipse. Do you want to direct it? Heck, so many names have been tossed about; part of me believes they'll eventually let a Twilight fanatic direct the damn thing. Now THAT would be something special – imagine some random fan directing a film? It'd have to turn out better than what Catherine Hardwicke gave us, right? (Ducks as a batch of tomatoes and Bella heart necklaces are thrown his way.)
But anyway, the latest name to surface in The Great Race To Find A Director For Eclipse is ... drum roll ... Juan Antonio Bayona! Um, who? The Guillermo Del Toro protégé, you may know Bayona for his spooky flick The Orphanage. He's not some flashy name like Drew Barrymore or Robert Hottinson, but he's a director who could give this franchise some good, solid scare. And for a movie about vampires, we kinda want that, right?
(P.S. It still cracks me up that we're talking all this smack about who the third director will be and the second film hasn't even started production yet.)
It's The First Image from 'Iron Man 2' ...
... and it's a blurry shot of director Jon Favreau and cinematographer Matthew Libatique standing in what appears to be a construction zone. That construction zone, however, will eventually be the interior of Tony Stark's house – which makes this image, released via Twitter by Favreau himself, the first official set photo from Iron Man 2.
As you can see from the image, the sets are still being built and production hasn't yet kicked into gear. Confirmed cast members so far include Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle (who replaces Terrence Howard), Samuel L. Jackson (returning as Nick Fury), Sam Rockwell, Mickey Rourke (who may have finally signed today, according to Deadline Hollywood) and mayyybe Tim Robbins and Scarlett Johansson. Phew. That's a mouthful.
