Scoop This: Six More Dwarves for ‘Snow White,’ John C. Reilly, Megan Fox Join ‘The Dictator,’ Hailee Steinfeld Finds Her Romeo

Six More Dwarves Join ‘Snow White’

Bob Hoskins, Eddie Izzard, Toby Jones and Ray Winstone have joined Ian McShane as dwarves in the upcoming Kristen Stewart-Chris Hemsworth action-fantasy Snow White and the Huntsman. Hoskins will play a blind dwarf named Constantine while Izzard will play the biggest and burliest dwarf of the crew, Tiberius. Jones will take on the role of timid dwarf Claudius. McShane joined the cast to play Caesar, the leader of the dwarves. Snow White and the Huntsman takes a departure from the classic Disney tale and instead turns the dwarves into warriors who must protect Stewart’s Snow White from Hemsworth’s Huntsman and the Evil Queen, played by Charlize Theron.
Eddie Marsan and Stephen Graham were confirmed as the fifth and sixth dwarves to join the crew earlier today. Winston and Marsan will play twin dwarves, Trajan and Hadrian, respectively while Graham will play the angry dwarf, Nero.
Late last year when Universal first announced this movie, we knew it was going to be a different take than the classic adaptation that Relativity Media was working on. Meanwhile, Disney is still plotting a similar adaption entitled Snow and the Seven, in which the dwarves are warriors in a story that takes place in 1800s China. It will be interesting to see how the Disney dwarf warriors differ from Universal’s. That been said, what are your thoughts on the Huntsman casting?
John C. Reilly, Megan Fox Join ‘The Dictator’
With filming currently underway on the latest Sacha Baron Cohen improve feature comedy, The Dictator, two more names have been added to the cast. John C. Reilly and Megan Fox will make cameos in the movie which co-stars Anna Faris and Ben Kingsley. Reilly has proven that he is skilled in the comedic genre so the focus is clearly on Fox. Does the former Transformers actress have the chops to pull off a comedic cameo?
Hailee Steinfeld Finds Her Romeo
We reported last month that True Grit star Hailee Steinfeld would be starring as Juliet in the umpteenth remake/adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. The question at the time was who would play her Romeo. The answer – Douglas Booth, a 19-year-old British actor who will also co-star opposite Miley Cyrus in LOL later this year. Booth also starred in the TV miniseries The Pillars of the Earth last year and is set to take on the role of Pip in a TV adaptation of the Charles Dickens novel Great Expectations next year. Romeo and Juliet also co-stars Holly Hunter, Ed Westwick and Kodi Smit-McPhee.
