New Image of Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique in X-Men: First Class
Scoop This: New Mystique Image, Chris Klein Back in ‘American Pie’ and ‘Mortal Kombat Legacy, Episode 2’
Before she suits up to play Katniss in the highly anticipated Hunger Games adaptation, Jennifer Lawrence will don a very different suit for her role in the upcoming X-Men: First Class. She’ll be playing the new, younger version of Mystique (played by Rebecca Romijn in the original trilogy), and you can check out a brand new full-body shot of Lawrence as Mystique right here. Romijn helped turn Mystique into a sexy geek icon, so can Lawrence live up to the badassery expected from her character? Guess we’ll see when the film hits theaters on June 3rd.
Chris Klein Returns for American Reunion
Looks like it’s definitely going to be a reunion on the set of American Reunion when the production gets underway next month, as Chris Klein has become the latest original American Pie castmember to sign on for the fourth big-screen installment in the popular comedy franchise. Klein will join returning castmembers like Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott, Eugene Levy and Alyson Hannigan in a film that will find most (if not all) of the original film’s characters reuniting for their 10-year high school reunion. Hilarity (and plenty of filthy sex-related jokes) will most likely ensue.
What do you think? Is there still something left in the gas tank, or did this franchise die when it started releasing direct-to-DVD sequels?
Mortal Kombat Legacy, Episode 2 Now Online
We brought you the first episode of the 10-episode web series for Mortal Kombat Legacy last week, and now we’re happy to bring you the badass second episode, which delves deeper into the origin stories of both Kano and Jax. This episode is a bit shorter than the last one, and it picks up right where the previous one left off. Kano and Jax square off for another round of fighting, which results in a pretty gory conclusion.
It’s important to once again note that this episode is rated TV MA, and is therefore NSFW (brief foul language and some pretty nasty surgical-related gore). Still no sign on my personal favorite Mortal Kombat characters (when do we get to see Scorpion rip out someone’s guts???), but so far I’m diggin’ it. Sure, there’s a certain level of over-the-top campiness, but it’s Mortal Kombat! What did you expect?!
