Scoop This: Lily Collins is Snow White, 'Hunger Games' Brings on the Boys and ‘The Governator’

Lily Collins, Not Saorise Ronan, Cast as Snow White

Kristen Stewart, meet your Snow White adversary. Not long after Saorise Ronan was rumored to be playing Snow White in Tarsem Sing’s The Brothers Grimm: Snow White comes news that, no, Lily Collins has been cast in the role. She’ll be joining Armie Hammer (as Prince Andrew Alcott) and Julia Roberts (as the Wicked Queen) in what’s being touted as an edgier updating of the classic story.
Collins is an actress on the rise, having also booked parts in Priest, Abduction (opposite Taylor Lautner) and Mortal Instruments. If you don’t know who she is yet, you’ll know a lot more about Ms. Collins come later this year.
So who do you think is the better Snow White: Kristen Stewart or Lily Collins?
‘Hunger Games’ Nabs Its Leading Men
And speaking of names on the rise, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth have signed on to play the lead male roads in the buzzed-about upcoming adaptation of The Hunger Games. After thumbing through casting wish lists featuring every up-and-comer in Hollywood, Hutcherson (who’ll play Peeta) and Hemsworth (who’ll play Gale) were chosen.
Both kids have been on the up and up as of late, with Hemsworth more known as being the guy who most recently dated Miley Cyrus, and Hutcherson as the guy who was almost Spider-Man. Still, with Jennifer Lawrence in the lead, these three form an explosive trio and give you a taste of what a future Hollywood A-list may look like.
The Hunger Games is due in theaters next year. What do you think about the casting?
‘The Governator’ Gets a Trailer
Remember that animated TV show featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger as a superhero? Well now it has a trailer, and … um … okay. It’s called The Governator, and the premise finds Arnold Schwarzenegger playing himself as a Governor who finishes his time in office only to become a secret superhero. It was recently announced that this would become an animated show and a comic book, but today we’re also hearing plans to turn it into an animated 3D feature film for 2013.
And now, the trailer. Is this something that looks like it has potential? Sound off below …
