Scoop This: Jim Carrey, Steve Carell May Reunite, Don Johnson Joins Tarantino Film and Javier Bardem is Bond Villain

Jim Carrey Might Make Magic with Steve Carell

New Line Cinema has offered Jim Carrey a role in its comedy Burt Wonderstone, to which Steve Carell is already attached.

The movie stars the titular Las Vegas magician played by Carell, whose partner dies in a risky stunt. Carell must rediscover his love for magic while fending off a rival street magician, the role being offered to Carrey.

The script was recently polished by Jason Reitman and has television director Don Scardino (30 Rock, Law and Order) attached.

Carrey and New Line are currently talking money as the potential of a Carrey/Carell reuniting could command a hefty paycheck.

The duo worked together on 2008’s Horton Hears a Who as well as the 2003 comedy Bruce Almighty in which Carell played Evan Baxter, a character who would appear in the 2007 spin-off Evan Almighty. Would you like to see this duo reunite again?

Don Johnson Joins Tarantino’s Slavery Movie

Following several months of persuasion,Don Johnson has joined the cast of Quentin Tarantino’s Western slavery drama Django Unchained. Johnson will play a plantation owner who owns a bunch of black prostitutes called "ponies."

Kurt Russell stepped in late last week for Kevin Costner who left the movie due to scheduling issues.

All told, the list of bad guy actors is pretty impressive with Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L. Jackson joining Johnson and Russell as Django speeds toward its Christmas Day 2012 release date.

Javier Bardem is Bond Villain

In other bad-guy news, Javier Bardem confirmed during an interview on Nightline that he would be playing the villain in James Bond 23.

"I am very excited. My parents took me to watch the movies and I saw all of them. So to play that is going to be fun," Bardem said.

Bardem recently signed on to voice the villain in the upcoming Despicable Me sequel as well. Bond 23 hits theaters November 2012. You can watch the full Nightline segment below (the Bond bit is at 4:35).
