Scoop This: 'Hobbit' Photos, ‘Pirates’ Trailer, and ‘True Lies 2’

First Official Photos from the Set of ‘The Hobbit’

After tracking this project for years, we’re happy to finally let you all know that The Hobbit has officially started production. Shouts! Cheers! High-fives! And in honor of the epic two-parter directed by Peter Jackson (who’s the man responsible for the previous Lord of the Rings trilogy), they’ve released two set photos to Facebook. Both show Jackson hanging out in that all-too-familiar Hobbit house, which should feel comforting for those itching for more Lord of the Rings action. Check out both photos and let us know what you think. The Hobbit, Part 1 is scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 19th, 2012.

New Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides Trailer

A new full-length trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides has arrived online, bringing with it a whole ton of action (and more Johnny Depp) as the film gears up for its May 20 release date. This new trailer just expands upon the plot info we already know: Captain Jack is sent on a mission to find the fountain of youth, and along the way he meets up with the devilish pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), his shifty daughter (Penelope Cruz), a group of killer mermaids and a whole lot of sword fighting. Check it out below and let us know what you think.

Tom Arnold Teases ‘True Lies 2’ … Again

We already know Arnold Schwarzenegger is quietly (and not-so-quietly) plotting his return to movies, and while he’s admitted folks have approached him with remake ideas for films like Predator, Terminator and The Running Man, Arnold still has not made up his mind … or has he? Tom Arnold, Schwarzenegger’s co-star in the action-comedy True Lies, has once again gone on record claiming True Lies 2 is going to happen with both him and Schwarznegger involved (as well as James Cameron, who’d be producing this time, not directing).

Arnold tells MovieWeb, "We [Arnold and Schwarzenegger] have both read the script. There is a script that James Cameron and a guy named Jeff Eastin, who created the TV show 'White Collar,' wrote. It is really great. Jim can't direct it. But he can produce it. We hope it gets done. We have a few fun things we want to do. I am supposed to remain cool about this. For me, it would be a lot of fun to work with the guys again."

But would it be a lot of fun for us again? Sound off and let us know if True Lies 2 is something you’d want to see.
