Schwarzenegger Thinks 'Twins' Sequel Will Be 'Real Entertainment'

When word broke that Universal and Montecito Picture Company were planning a sequel to Ivan Reitman's 1988 comedy Twins, most people brushed it aside as another sign that Hollywood has run out of ideas.  Additionally, there was the potential that Eddie Murphy would be joining the sequel, titled Triplets.

While Murphy has yet to say anything about the sequel, Danny Devito has spoken in general terms about doing a follow-up movie. Comingsoon spoke with Arnold Schwarzenegger late last year where he spoke about Triplets. The interview was embargoed until today, so the quotes are just now hitting the Web. Feel free to read the quotes below in your best Arnold voice.

"I would love to do another Twins. As a matter of fact, we've been talking about doing one and it's called Triplets. I'd find somebody like Eddie Murphy or someone that people would say, 'How does that happen, medically speaking?' and, 'Physically, there's no way!' Then, somehow, we would explain it. that would be hilarious with what we know about someone like him."

Arnold continued, "I can see a poster… A billboard with us three. 'They found another one!' 'Triplets!' 'Only their mother can tell them apart!' I would do that in two seconds, because that's real entertainment. You come out with that movie for Chirstmas, like December 5th or something like that, and you're home free."

But before Arnie start mounting a promo campaign, Triplets needs to get a green light, a director and a script before we start drawing conclusions. Plus there's the whole matter of hearing for Murphy on if he's even interested. If not, might they move on to Tracy Morgan? Chris Rock? Kevin Hart?
