Brace yourselves, Twi-hards. It’s going to be a busy week in the world of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.
In celebration of Edward Cullen’s 111th birthday, Summit Entertainment plans to release a full teaser trailer for the highly anticipated sequel on Wednesday, June 20, at 5:30 a.m. PST/8:30 a.m. EST. Before that, there will be a 10-second teaser for the teaser that’s supposed to hit the Web on Tuesday, June 19, at the same time. We’ll bring both to Twilight fans right here on Fandango.
This concludes a flurry of recent activity surrounding the final chapter in the Twilight saga.
Recently, Entertainment Weekly revealed the first look at 11-year-old actress Mackenzie Foy, hired to play Renesmee, vampire daughter of Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson).
And then there was the strange rumor that Lionsgate already plans to reboot the Twilight franchise in celebration of the film series’ fifth anniversary (it launched in 2008). While Lionsgate denied the rumor to Deadline, they did so with such lackluster conviction that they absolutely left the door open to a possible reboot.
“We are not remaking Twilight,” said Lionsgate head Rob Friedman. “We will happily support Stephenie Meyer if she decides to proceed in any way. But this will be the last one unless that should change.”
Unless that should change? That doesn’t sound like “no” to us!
So circle the dates on your calendars, Twilight fans. The next and final chapter in the Twilight saga will arrive in theatres on Nov. 16, with Bill Condon directing. You’ll have footage of Breaking Dawn: Part 2 on your devices by Wednesday. In the meantime, bat this topic around: Should Lionsgate already be looking to reboot the series? Do you want to see a new Bella, Edward and Jacob? Or are the current versions of Stephenie Meyer’s classic characters the definitive versions for all time? Let us know your thoughts.
