Saoirse Ronan, Sullivan Stapleton Audition for 'Star Wars' Roles

Casting for the next episode in the Star Wars franchise is progressing with the speed of Jabba the Hutt in molasses. Rumors have been floating around as to a number of actors who have auditioned for various unspecified roles.

Saoirse Ronan is one the actors who has confirmed that she did audition for a role in Star Wars: Episode VII. Latino Review broke the news first with Ronan confirming it on Sky News, with the actress adding, "so has everyone."

Ronan however doesn't divulge which role she's read for although it's rumored to be the part of Han Solo and Princess Leia's daughter.

Meanwhile, Latino Review is pressing forward in the Star Wars front by reporting a rumor that 300: Rise of an Empire star Sullivan Stapleton has also auditioned for a role.

Again, specifics to what that role is aren't mentioned, but the site also states, "don't believe reports that they're not filming in New Mexico, and this IMAX thing is out of context."

That "IMAX thing" is a reference to director J.J. Abrams filming portions of the movie with IMAX cameras. What exactly is "out of context" is not revealed in the Latino Review post.

Star Wars: Episode VII is scheduled to being filming in England next year and is slated for a summer 2015 release.

Would you like to see Ronan or Stapleton in Star Wars roles?
