Earlier, we posted the results of our official reader poll asking which films Fandango fans most wanted to see in 2013. And all of you selected movies that were actually opening in 2013, films like The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and The Great Gatsby.
But what if you could have selected movies that opened in 1976, 1965 or 1955? Your answers probably would have changed.
Cinemark is changing the game. The theater chain today announced six films that will screen as part of its "Classics Series." They include 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Sound of Music, To Catch a Thief and the original Rocky. The movies will screen in more than 150 Cinemark theaters across the country. All of these digitally restored movies will be scheduled to play during the months of January and February, at two separate showtimes: 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
"Our Classic Film Series has continued to be very popular for our customers," James Meredith, VP of Marketing & Communications for Cinemark said in a press release. "This next group of films features many that we have had requests to bring back to the big screen."
What’s screening? And when? The list of films and dates of their presentation are:
Wednesday, January 9: Rocky
Wednesday, January 16: The Sound of Music
Wednesday, January 23: To Catch A Thief
Wednesday, January 30: Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid
Wednesday, February 6: Saturday Night Fever
