Robert Pattinson's Newest On-Screen Love is...

Whether you like it or not, Robert Pattinson is allowed to romance other actresses in other films (that don't also star Kristen Stewart), and, as such, Production Weekly tells us that he'll be wooing Cristina Ricci next in the adaptation of Guy de Maupassant's short story Bel Ami. To be directed by Declan Donnellan, Bel Ami will follow a young journalist named George Duroy (Pattinson), who rose from poverty to become one of the most sensational men in Paris by sleeping with the city's most glamorous and influential women.

Ricci will take on the role of Clotilde de Marelle, who will be one of the many women Pattinson's Duroy beds before moving on to his next, er, victim. Uma Thurman and Kristin Scott Thomas also star – both of whom at one point fall for Duroy, with Thurman becoming his wife and Scott, as a socialite, becoming very clingy. Not too bad for Mr. Pattinson, if I may say so myself, though I can't see this being a film that will attract his core audience.

On a somewhat related note, the new poster for Pattinson's next film, Remember Me, has just been released and you can check it out in this post.

What do you think? Should R-Patz take on these types of roles, or should he stick to stuff that's a little more accessible?
