Rihanna, Luke Evans Rumored for Villain Role in 'Fast & Furious 6'

[ UPDATE: Luke Evans (Immortals) has officially been offered a bad guy role in Fast Six. Twitch reports that the villain role is the same one Jason Statham had been earmarked for a few months ago. ]

Casting rumors have been swirling around Fast & Furious 6 for the past couple weeks. First Jason Statham turned down an undisclosed role in the film. A few days later, Gina Carano was reportedly in talks to co-star in the film as part of Dwayne Johnson's law enforcement squad.

The latest rumor floating around has pop singer Rihanna attached to play a villain in Fast 6. UK newspaper The Sun is reporting that the singer snagged the role (we're not making this up) based on her impressive performance in the upcoming sci-fi action flick, Battleship. The Sun quotes, "Rihanna impressed with her acting debut in Battleship. Writers think she'll be perfect for the role. Her character has plenty of bite and doesn't take any prisoners – just like her in real life. It's a step up the ladder for her and could lead to bigger action roles."

While that may be the case, Rihanna has talked about following up her sci-fi action work by transitioning into comedies and has singled out Seth Rogen and Sacha Baron Cohen as two comedic actors she hopes to work with in the future.

"I've always wanted to work with Seth. He is so funny. Even if he's not in the film, all of his movies are funny." She added, "They're the comedies I watch a thousand times, besides Borat, of course and everything that Sacha Baron Cohen does."

Battleship has been a huge hit internationally, where it opened up over a month in advance of its May 18 domestic release. The film has already raked in $170 million in 39 countries, including $12 million in South Korea and Russia and almost $10 million in the UK and Japan.

The sixth Fast & Furious film will take place in England with Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and the rest of the Fast gang and arrives in theaters May 24, 2013.

Does the addition of Rihanna to the Fast & Furious franchise make you more or less inclined to see the new film?
